Dmitry Sinkovsky, Guest Director and Violin Soloist
“Virtuosity, finesse, expression, imagination, nothing is missing from Sinkovsky.” —LE MONDE
The triple talents of Russia’s phenomenon Dmitry Sinkovsky — a violinist, countertenor, and conductor — have led him to a dazzling career on the world stage. This concert will combine the virtuosic talents of Sinkovsky with those of the Arion Baroque Orchestra and their artistic director and flutist Claire Guimond in a wonderful concert of Bach, Handel, Quantz and Telemann. Arion, Québec’s Juno Award-winning baroque period instrument orchestra, is lauded for its “remarkable and unified sound, such impeccable phrasing, unparalleled expression of stunning sonority, phrasing and brilliant beat punctuations” (Arts & Opinion), and whose artistry is appreciated around the globe.
